The Personal Leadership (PL) framework is based on the understanding that intercultural knowledge and intercultural competence are two very different things, especially when our deeply held values or sense of identity are affronted by cultural difference. This session introduces a transformative methodology for us to examine the directions and commitments we are making in our own development as we live and work across cultures.
Based on the principles of mindfulness and creativity, the practice of Personal Leadership helps us attend to our automatic ‘default’ reactions; we learn to remain open and inspired, and thus to respond to people, places and situations in effective and productive ways, even when we feel personally or professionally challenged. In other words “Personal Leadership is a state of mind, of heart, and of body.” (Ramsey, Schaetti, Watanabe – founders, Personal Leadership: Making a World of Difference).
Personal Leadership: Making a World of Difference, offers the opportunity to significantly enhance our lives, both inside and out. It inspires us to remain connected to our own inner wisdom, to create more effective connections, and to be more fully present when coaching in the multicultural workplace.
There will be experiential and interactive exercises and small and large group discussions.
