The Speaking Coach: How to get paid to speak as a Coach

The Speaking Coach: How to get paid to speak as a Coach with Heather Townsend

Do you find yourself regularly speaking to generate new business as a coach? Would you like to find out how to actually get paid to speak (and not just for expenses only)? Many coaches have swelled their income by becoming a professional speaker. In effect, getting paid to market their coaching business. Appearance fees for speakers can often be over £2000 a day, but only if you market yourself correctly.

When you know how the speaking world works AND what speaker bookers are looking for it becomes much easier to pick up paid work as a speaker. (And then win lucrative coaching work off the back of being at the front of the room speaking!)

 In this session you will get opportunities to discuss in small groups:

  • How to choose and capitalise on your niche
  • Your soundbite

In this session, led by Heather Townsend, Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association, and author of The Go-To Expert, you will learn:

  • How to market yourself effectively to speaker bookers, including the essential marketing collateral you need as a speaker.
  • How to get your clients to think of booking you as a speaker AND a coach.
  • What skills you will need to develop as a professional speaker.
  • How to transition from turning up for free to speak and getting paid appearance fees of £2000+ to speak at an event.
  • How to price yourself as a speaker.

Heather is always up for a challenge. Which is why she loves helping high flying professionals learn to win their own clients and make partner. In fact in the last 12 months Heather has supported her clients to add over £1million in fees to their client portfolio. She is a fellow of the Professional Speaking Association and in demand as a speaker and coach. As well as this, Heather is an award-winning author, coach and speaker having written 4 books which have sold over 20,000 copies and been translated into over 5 languages;
The FT Guide To Business Networking, The Go-To Expert, How to make partner and still have a life (with Jo Larbie) and Poised for Partnership.
